These Antique Millefiori paperweights are generally attributed to the New England Glass Company, although some "experts" have now taken to calling them "Antique American" as there is some possibility that some were made at Sandwich or elsewhere, and we have become less positive in our attributions. This one appears to be a classic New England Concentric, and the canes are typical for that factory. This is a classic Concentric Millefiori pattern with a close ring of blue/white canes set around a large center yellow/red cane and an outer spaced ring of four red/white/blue canes alternating with four black/white canes. Each of these black/white canes has SIX EAGLE SILHOUETTES set around a center floreta total of 24 EAGLE SILHOUETTES. The millefiori canes are set on a white latticinio cushion that is pulled down underneath to form a mushroom.

The paperweight is 2-5/16" in diameter and 1-9/16" high. It has been professionally polished and the surface is perfect. There are a few small nicks around the base rim that are only visible from the bottom. Antique New England Glass Co.
