Peter McDougall Large Cane Closepack Millefiori in a Basket

This LARGE closepack weight is one example of Peter's fine craftsmanship. A wide variety of large millefiori canes are formed into a classic Closepack design.

A ring of multi-colored canes encircles the closepack design and these outer canes are pulled down and under to form a multi-colored striped basket. The weight is 3-1/4" in diameter and 2-3/16" high, and is signed with PMcD in individual canes in the setup. A couple of the basket staves have trapped bubbles at the surface that are visible from the side.
