Peter McDougall G12A Close Pack withIncredibly Complex Canes

THIS PAPERWEIGHT QUITE POSSIBLY INCLUDES SOME OF THE MOST COMPLEX CLASSIC MILLEFIORI CANES EVER MADE. Peter McDougall, former Perthshire Factory Manager, continued with his innovative designs. This medium-sized close pack paperweight from Peter's PMcD Studio in Crieff Scotland includes complex and detailed millefiori canes that rival--or SURPASS-- the most complex canes found in even the best antique weights such as Baccarat, Clichy, and St. Peter makes this design in three sizesthe G12 is a small weight approximately 2 to 2-1/4" in diameter, the G12A is a medium sized paperweight nominally 2-1/2" in diameter, and the G12B is a large weight approximately 3 in diameter. As the size increases more and more complex canes are included.

This one is the medium sized G12A weight. I found one complex cane that had more than 35 individual canes as elements--individual CANES, NOT individual RODS.. NOBODY ELSE is doing this level of millefiori cane work.

The individual canes are set on a translucent dark Blue ground. The weight is 2-9/16" in diameter and 1-3/4" high. It is signed "PMcD" in four separate canes in the set-up.
