This triple-faceted with encased bubble, Saturn series, optical paperweight called Harlequin/R (PH3SP) by Paul Harrie is approximately 4.50 high. The date is 2005 and signed. It may even be the prototype. The "R" or red dish pastel (delicate fuchsia) color is rare, or to put in another way, we have never seen another one like it.
This is the exact showpiece that has graced the net since 2005; it is the one from the now defunct Light Opera, a legendary art glass store in San Francisco. As you can see from the scans, the minuscule tool mark is hardly visible in normal lighting. It was quite an effort to take its picture because of its tiny size. At any rate, do not expect this paperweight to be a machine-made perfection. Harrie is a cutting-edge American master, not a robot. And, we highly doubt that he would make another one exactly like it since he is an artist, not a factory. Surely, he has his great reputation to uphold. Besides, a new paperweight would not be the same since our optical has a'05 date. 2017 is more than a decade -- how uncool to make another one. This Paul Harrie paperweight has never been used.
We never use our masterpieces. It is the only one being auctioned off. Actual color may vary from pictures due to digital camera phenomenon, lighting, your computer settings, and other factors. Thank you for stopping by. This masterpiece will have a tamper-security sticker with a unique serial number -. Is the only one that is being auctioned off.
