NEW in BOX STEUBEN glass EXCALIBUR 18K GOLD SILVER SWORD J HOUSTON paperweight
Consider this Steuben icon, a signed new in vintage gift box. A heavy block of fire polished cut and faceted crystal magnifies and refracts the light into a rainbow pattern. It holds an eight inch solid sterling silver sword with the hilt wrapped in braided 18kt gold marked for gold, sterling and the Steuben "S". An early creation of the famed Steuben designer, writer and outdoorsman, the late James Houston (famous for Arctic Fisherman, Polar Bear with Cub, Ice Hunter, Trout & Fly, Ice Bear, Eagle on Globe and many others)-- a rare find in gift ready condition. Only the true king can remove the sword from the stone! 4 inches tall by 5 inches wide and approx. 4lbs, this Steuben Excalibur is crystal clear with no nicks, no chips, no scratches or signs of use to the glass and no display wear or scratches on the bottom. The crystal block is fully signed "steuben" in script. The letter opener sword has no monogram and is in excellent condition. This will be packed in it's fine vintage box free of stains, tears or odors. No fake "hidden reserve" to waste your time. You will be thrilled with this beautiful work of art. I have set a very fair price for this rare wonderful Steuben masterwork/design.
Steuben Glass was founded by Frederick Carder in 1903. Recognized as the world's foremost artisan glass house, Steuben glass was hand made by American craftsmen at the works in Corning NY.
Steuben glass was frequently the United States' gift of State to foreign dignitaries. Items that did not meet their exacting production standards were destroyed by being smashed in a bin. Steuben, a recognized luxury brand and the ultimate in art glass. Please take time to look at the photos.
My goal is gift worthy Steuben. Please check out my other.

Note: other sellers often simply describe their items as "excellent" or "very good, " which can cover a lot of ground. Then you later find that their idea of excellent means nicks, visible annoying scratches, minor chips and monograms on the sword.
