Very unusual early Paul Ysart Paperweight in a six pointed star pattern. Starting with an orange/green millefiori cane in the center of the weight it is surrounded by 8 green canes with pink/orange centers that are complimentary colors as used in the canes of the star pattern.
Next is a row of 12 blue canes (notice the PY signature cane hiding in the row of these canes) then the weight takes on a star pattern made up of pink/orange colored canes. In between each point of the star is a lavender cane with a bright yellow center.
The design is all resting on a cobalt blue translucent ground. The weight has a rough pontil on the base which is a common feature of many of Paul's weights. You can tell this is an early weight by the purple tint to the glass. I would guess that Paul made this paperweight in the 1930's. I do not know what that means but I think he was a collector or paperweight dealer in England. The weight is 3 1/8" diameter and has a high dome of slightly over 2 1/2". It is in perfect condition.
