This is a paperweight made by the BACCARAT glass company in France in 1848. It is from a small estate in a little town in North Carolina and was bought there by my mother in the early 1990's. This is a genuine BACCARAT paperweight from 1848; the date shown as a small "cane" with the BACCARAT "B" above the year date.
