Antique Baccarat red carpet ground, rare French paperweight This rare paperweight design from Baccarat features spaced millefiori canes on a red carpet ground in a crystal paperweight made circa 1850. This is the most popular color of Baccarats carpet grounds from the classic period.

In addition to a signature/ date cane reading B 1848, this weigh has silhouette canes of; a white squirrel, pheasant, horse, rooster, deer, elephant and a butterfly. Very good condition, re-polished with average wear on basal rim.
