Vermont Blown Glass Egg Shaped Michael Egan Signed Art Glass Paperweight 2009

This gorgeous piece cannot be appreciated with photos though I tried to capture the egg from different angles in different light. Measures approximately 4 1/2" tall and 2 1/2" in diameter. The artist's paperweights evoke a tapestry of living organisms from an ocean reef, maybe from another time and place. He works to evoke the colors and rhythms of aquatic life.

Details are magnified by a clear glass encasement. These paperweights are full of unique things and places. They can be cleaned using a warm damp cloth. They should be left in sunlight to be truly appreciated. A small wafer of glass bearing a colored pattern.

Formed by bundling and fusing colored glass rods together and then pulling the hot glass to a very small diameter. When cut into wafers, each piece bears the original pattern in miniature.
