Perthshire colorful patterned millefiori paperweight Scotland. A nice patterned millefiori design with twisted ribbons. This motif is set on a translucent cobalt colored ground. On the base is an original paper label. Most Perthshire weights are signed with a P cane, but in the early years, about 1969-70 some weights were not signed. This weight is from Perthshire, a company no longer in business. It closed on January 25, 2002. For over thirty years this Scottish glassworks was one of the most famous makers of fine glass paperweights. Founded in 1968 by country lawyer, Stuart Drysdale, this company was the only factory started to exclusively make fine glass paperweights.
