Short History of Bohemian Paperweights. Its sometimes said that the first glass makers of paperweights were from Bohemia.
Glass Maker History back in the early to mid-1800s was a bit sketchy, but its widely believed that Bohemian weights were made from 1840s to present. They made many different types of weights and most antique ones were unsigned and simply attributed to Bohemian Glass Makers. Bohemian weights also encompassed a wide geographic area of Europe, that might have covered Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and Slovakia areas by todays map. One of my hobbies is collecting Art Glass Paperweights. I'm a member of Midwest Paperweight Collectors Club as well as the Paperweight Collectors Association (PCA) which is our National Club. Please follow me so you won't miss any of my fabulous items.
